Neet Biology Vol-I by C.S. Mishra, Sanjay Sinha
Book Summary:

We enter a new phase with the third edition of this book. This book is written strictly according to the syllabus prescribed for NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The book consists of 22 chapters each of which contains elaborated theory and multiple choice questions. The text is very well supported by diagrams to increase transparency of the subject. The section of Objective questions is prepared after keeping in mind the various patterns of questions in different examinations.

NEET is all set to be rolled out from 2013. This means that now there will be a common entrance test for admission to all UG programmes and that will be called NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.

This exam will be conducted by CBSE. As of now, there are some 17 entrance tests held to fill more than 30,000 seats in around 271 medical colleges. Now with NEET, there will be a single entrance examination for all these colleges offering MBBS courses. Basically this will cover all the medical colleges coming under the ambit of Medical Council of India (MCI). 138 of these colleges are run by the government while 133 come under private management.
